Congratulations on your First Place win at Districts.  You did a great job!  Keep your eyes here for news about next season coming in Late Summer.

DISTRICTS: Today's Schedule

Parents, This is our rough schedule for today.  You can check back here during the day for regular photo updates of our progress.

• 6:15am - Rise and shine, personal hygiene, pickup cabin, check-out
• 7:15am - Leave for Dallas EFC,  45 Hildebrandt Rd, Dallas, PA 18612, 570.675.6426
• 7:30am - Breakfast
• 8:30am - Devotions
• 9am - 11:30am - Quizzing, Short break, tiebreaker round (if needed) and Bible Knowledge Test
• 12:30pm - Lunch
• 1:30pm - Worship/closing/presentations
• 2:30pm - Leave for Home
• 4pm - Bathroom break, snack, gas
• 6pm - Arrive at Calvary EFC

DISTRICTS: See you at the Van!

We're meeting at the church at 4:00 PM tonight to leave for Districts in Dallas, PA.  Please arrive a little early, if possible, so we can be ready to go promptly.

The Trumbull Team will be picking us up, and stopping at Chipotle for dinner.  Once we arrive, we'll hang out in the camp gym until bedtime at 10 PM.

DISTRICTS: What do I pack?

We leave for Districts tomorrow afternoon.  If you're going to be packing today/tonight, here is a good list to use as you fill your duffle bag.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT FORGET:

• Either money for dinner Friday at Chipotle or a bag dinner
• Sleeping gear for Friday night (sleeping bag, pillow, etc.)
• Your Quiz Team shirt
• Long Pants for Saturday quizzing (you can change into shorts after quizzing is done)

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOUR SUITCASE:

• A warm/rain jacket for Friday night (Low of 45 with rain predicted overnight)
• Study materials including your scripture portion
• Toiletries (warm showers will be available)
• An alarm clock (or multifunction device with an alarm app)

If possible, please pack in a soft suitcase for maximum packing flexibility.

ANNOUNCEMENT: We're driving to Districts with Trumbull!

Good news, everyone!  We'll be driving up to Districts with the Trumbull Team.  We're still leaving church at 4 PM - Trumbull with stop off for us - but we are adding a short dinner stop at Chipotle (but feel free to still bring a bag lunch instead).  See you then!

Bible Knowledge Test

The Bible Knowledge Test is an opportunity to show just how much you learned over the course of the year, without having to worry about anyone else competing against you.  It is an invaluable opportunity to challenge yourself without anyone else looking over your shoulder.

If you missed Districts this year - or if you have a friend or family member who wants to test their knowledge - you can download a copy of this year's test here (or by clicking on the image below).  We will post a copy of the answer key on Saturday.

• 9:00 AM - 10:40 AM - Bible Quizzing
• 10:40 AM  - 11:00 AM - Snack Break
• 11:10 AM - 12:30 PM - Bible Quizzing
• 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM - LUNCH
• 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM - Tiebreaker Round, If Needed
• 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Coaches Quiz, Bible Knowledge Test, Worship, Trophy Presentation

DISTRICTS: Fellowship Church

We've talked about Dallas, PA, and Camp Orchard Hill, so now let's talk a bit about our hosting church - Fellowship Evangelical Free Church.

The Fellowship Quiz Team meets weekly to read, study, and memorize scripture to prepare for several local and regional competitions from September through May.  Friendly camaraderie, competition, and fellowship make for a wonderful experience.

DISTRICTS: Dallas, PA

We're going to Dallas, PA for Districts this year. It will be the visit visit for most or all of us.  So what are some interesting facts about the town?

Dallas is a borough in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,804 at the 2010 census. It was created by a charter granted April 21, 1879, from land entirely within Dallas Township.The township had been formed in 1817 and was named for Alexander J. Dallas, who was the 6th United States Secretary of the Treasury and the father of George M. Dallas, the vice president of James Polk.

The town's most famous son is Greg Manusky, former NFL player and current coach.

DISTRICTS: Camp Orchard Hill

For Districts this year, we will not be staying in host homes.  Instead, we will be staying at Camp Orchard Hill.  This is a Christian camp located in Dallas, PA near to Fellowship Church (where the Dallas Team is from).

The cost to stay will be $10/person.  But for that price, the whole Bible Quizzing group will be staying together and be able to use the facilities on Friday night.
