No Bible Quiz Team for 2015-2016

There will be no Bible Quiz Team at Beacon Hill Church in Monroe, CT for the 2015-2016 season.  This blog is going on hiatus unless/until the team starts back up.  Thanks for your support!

ANNOUNCEMENT: We're driving to Districts with Trumbull!

Good news, everyone!  We'll be driving up to Districts with the Trumbull Team.  We're still leaving church at 4 PM - Trumbull with stop off for us - but we are adding a short dinner stop at Chipotle (but feel free to still bring a bag lunch instead).  See you then!

BIBLE QUIZ TEAM PRACTICE IS CANCELLED

The flakes are falling, Monroe schools are closing early, and while walking Lily I was slipping and sliding on the roads.  So, we are canceling practice for tonight.  Check your e-mail for some practice questions you can enjoy with hot cocoa tonight.

We’ll be going on to study Acts 20 this coming week.  We’ll quiz on BOTH chapters next Monday.

Stay safe, dry, and warm… unless you prefer to sled or snowball fight!  ;-)

ANNOUNCEMENT: Scheduling Notes for 2014-2015

This info was sent out by e-mail, but the coaches wanted to make sure it reached as many potential quizzers for next year as possible.

• First, the annual Bible Quiz Team kickoff meeting will be Sunday, August 24 after the church service.  If you know anyone who is interested in joining the team for this upcoming year, pass the word!
• Second, we’re looking to change the day for practices, so that we can have as many quizzers there as possible.  We’re looking to meet on Monday nights from 6:30-7:30 PM.  Please let us know if this change in date or time causes issues for anyone.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Bible Quiz Team Kickoff Meeting

Our second annual Bible Quiz Team Kickoff Meeting for the Monroe Team will be on Sunday, August 25 at 9:00 AM.  This is a chance for anyone new to Bible Quizzing to come out and learn about the ministry and the team.  Parents and teens welcome.  There is no commitment for coming to the meeting.  We'll see you there!

Yes, we know that is also Pastor Rich's last Sunday with us, but we'll do our thing before the service, so that you can spend your time with him AFTER the service.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Annual Bible Quiz Team Christmas Party

It's that time of year again!  The annual Bible Quiz Team Christmas Party will be held on Friday, December 7.  And both Trumbull and Monroe will be celebrating together!

WHEN:  Friday, December 7
STARTING TIME:  6:00 PM
ENDING TIME:  About 9:00 PM
WHERE:  Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Trumbull, CT (Fellowship Hall)
WHO IS INVITED:  Quizzers and their families
WHAT DO I BRING:  A potluck dish for each family and each quizzer is invited to take part in the "Gift Game".
WHAT IS THE "GIFT GAME":  Similar to a "Yankee Swap", each participant will bring a wrapped gift worth between $5 and $10.  Then we'll go around the room and play the game to figure out who gets what gift.

An eVite has gone out to everyone who gave me an e-mail address.  Please reply back with how many family members are coming, and what you'll be bringing for the potluck.  Hope to see you all there!
