Study Tip: For some people, the best way to make the Bible a priority in your life is to put it at the start of every day. Rather than waiting for after homework, dinner, or whatever else you normally put before studying, consider setting your alarm 15 minutes earlier in the morning and spending that time reading thru that week's chapter. This can set the tone for your day, and give you a chance to apply the lessons of the chapter in your daily life

BIBLE NEWS: 2012 National Bible Bee

It is good to remember that our system of Bible Quizzing and memorization isn't the only one.  Recently, the 2012 National Bible Bee kicked off and hundreds of kids & teens came out to compete in learning scripture!

The fourth annual Bible Bee kicked off Wednesday in Sevierville, Tenn., where 300 qualifiers from across the U.S. began competing in events designed to test their knowledge of the Scriptures. The books that will be focused on throughout this year's competition are 1 and 2 Timothy – letters written by the Apostle Paul to Timothy, a young pastor in Ephesus.
At the local level, contestants had thoroughly studied 2 Timothy and memorized at least 25 Bible Memory passages. Children in each age division – primary, junior and senior – at the national challenge are also responsible for having thoroughly studied 1 Timothy and having memorized several hundred additional verses from throughout both the Old and New Testaments.

WEEK 11: Review Matthew, Chapters 1-10

This week (November 19 thru November 25), please review Matthew, Chapters 1-10.

There is no practice next week, to allow Quiz Team families to celebrate Thanksgiving.  We use such weeks as review weeks.  Please take a moment and consider your weakest chapters, so you can focus there for this week.

Past Chapter Resources:

Study Tip: Have you noticed over time that you come to associate certain places with certain activities? Sports people find themselves automatically putting on their game face as they walk into a gym. Have you considered doing your studying in the same place every day? After a while, your mind will learn to associate that place with focus and concentration, and getting into the zone will be just a little easier.

Upcoming Events:
- December 7, Quiz Team Christmas Party in Trumbull, CT
- January 19, Midwinter Quiz Meet in Sparta, NJ

Study Tip: During the holiday season, it becomes increasingly difficult to stay focused on Quiz Team.  Parties, concerts, plays, etc. eat more and more into your daily study time. How do you cope? First, accept the fact that your life will have competing priorities and that sometimes Quiz Team can't be #1. Second, realize that we only HAVE time if we MAKE TIME. Set aside some time every day for studying. Make it the same time, as much as possible, and try to be disciplined. Eventually, study time will become a habit, and something you won't have to work so hard to keep up.

Upcoming Events:
- Saturday, November 17 - Quiz Meet in Trumbull, CT
- Sunday, November 18 - No Practice, Help with Shoeboxes instead!
