Study Tip: It's tempting to use review weeks to sit back and watch TV instead of studying the old material.  But these are key opportunities to solidify your knowledge of sections on which you are weak.  Take a moment to read thru the chapters and identify areas of weakness.  Then find someone to sit with and quiz through those rough spots.

QUESTION:  According to Romans 4:8, blessed is whom?

ANSWER:  The man against whom the Lord will not count his sin. (cf Rom 4:8; 14:22; Jam 1:12)

QUESTION:  According to Romans 4:11, he is the father of whom? 

ANSWER:  All who believe without being circumcised (cf Rom4:11, 12, 16)

QUESTION:  According to Romans 4:12, he is the father of whom? 

ANSWER:  The circumcised who are not merely circumcised butwho also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised. (cf Rom 4:11, 12, 16)

QUESTION: Now // to the one who works,... 

ANSWER:  ...his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness. (Romans 4:4-5)

QUESTION: Blessed are // those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,...
ANSWER:  ...and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin. (Romans 4:7-8)


QUESTION: That // is why it depends on faith,...

QUESTION: No unbelief // made him waver...

Study Tip: How many senses are you engaging when you study? For most of us, the more of our senses we use, the deeper what we study is moved into our memory. Try reading the chapter out loud (engaging eyes and ears). Try writing out the chapter by hand (engaging eyes and hands). Try associating parts of the chapter with pictures that you draw (engaging eyes in multiple ways). Experiment with different ways of embedding scripture into your memory.
